Jarett is a Michigan native and multi-instrumentalist residing in Denver, CO. He holds a Masters of Education degree from DePaul University and studied guitar, mandolin, music theory and ear training at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, IL. As a founding member of the band Chain Station (Denver, CO), Jarett splits his time between teaching and touring.

Teaching style: Jarett has offered theory-based instruction on several instruments including mandolin, guitar, fiddle, and ukulele, to students of all ages, for nearly 15 years. Most recently here on the Front Range of Colorado at Swallow Hill Music and for Jefferson County School District. He views learning songs as the vehicle to deliver theoretical concepts that permeate and govern all music. His goal is to get his students “away from the page” and connected to their instrument and the music, allowing them to join any jam, and play along with any song they hear.
